These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed through booook-makers.com (the “Website”), operated by:

2. Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to Quentin Creuzet, trading as booook-makers.com.
  • “You”, “Your”, “Customer” refers to any natural person or legal entity placing an order through the Website.
  • “Products” refers to the second-hand books offered for sale on the Website.
  • “Order” refers to a request by the Customer to purchase one or more Products through the Website.

3. Applicability

These Terms and Conditions apply to every offer, order, and agreement made through the Website. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. The version in effect at the time of your order applies to that order.

4. Products and Descriptions

All Products sold through the Website are second-hand books. We describe the condition of each book as accurately as possible. Minor imperfections such as shelf wear, light creasing, or slight discolouration are inherent to second-hand items and do not constitute defects. Product images are representative. The actual book may differ slightly in appearance from the images shown. All offers are valid while stocks last. We reserve the right to remove or modify any listing at any time.

5. Prices and Payment

All prices displayed on the Website are in euros (€) and are final consumer prices. As we trade in second-hand goods, we apply the Dutch margin scheme (margeregeling, articles 28b–28i Wet OB 1968). VAT is included in the price and calculated on our profit margin only; it is not shown separately on invoices. Customers cannot deduct VAT on purchases from booook-makers.com, even if they are VAT-registered businesses.

6. VAT and Invoicing

booook-makers.com operates under the Dutch margin scheme for second-hand goods (margeregeling). This means:

  • Prices are quoted inclusive of all applicable taxes
  • VAT is calculated on our profit margin and not shown separately
  • Invoices include the mention “Margeregeling van toepassing — geen BTW verrekenbaar” as required by Dutch law
  • VAT is not recoverable by business customers on purchases made under this scheme

For orders shipped outside the European Union, products are sold under the export exemption (VAT 0%), provided we receive shipping confirmation. Customers in non-EU countries may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees in their country of destination, which are their responsibility.

7. Orders and Contract Formation

An order constitutes an offer by you to purchase the selected Products. The contract between you and us is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order for any legitimate reason, including but not limited to product unavailability, pricing errors, or suspected fraud. If we cancel your order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund.

8. Right of Withdrawal

Under Dutch and EU consumer law, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days after receiving the Product, without giving any reason. Please refer to our separate Returns Policy for the full procedure and the withdrawal form.

9. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within 2–3 business days of receiving payment. Estimated delivery times vary by destination. See our Shipping Policy for details. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed deadlines. We are not liable for delays caused by postal or courier services. Risk of loss or damage to the Products passes to you when you (or a third party designated by you, other than the carrier) take physical possession of the Products.

10. Guarantee and Conformity

Under Dutch law, Products must conform to what you may reasonably expect based on the description provided. Since all Products are second-hand, reasonable expectations take into account the age and prior use of the item. If a Product does not conform to its description (for example, significant damage that was not mentioned in the listing), you may contact us within a reasonable time to arrange a return or refund.

11. Liability

Our total liability arising from or related to an order is limited to the price paid for the Product(s) in question, including any shipping costs. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profit or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website — including text, photographs, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use this content without our prior written consent.

13. Personal Data

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our Website. By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.

14. Complaints and Disputes

If you have a complaint about a Product or our service, please contact us at info@booook-makers.com. We will do our best to resolve the issue within 30 days. If we are unable to reach a satisfactory resolution, you may submit a complaint to the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.
